We bailed early cause of shit weather and shitter spots... next one will have to be north of the river... Would I be correct in saying that you have to head farkin far out to get to good ground?

I have never fished there

I have never fished there before Saturday but from what i heard from the guys on the weekend at the ramp was that they were caught around 40-50m.

We did a stupid thing and headed out miles too deep. We ended up at 130m and were gettting smashed out there. Headed back into around 80m still getting smashed but found some good ground. First drop we got a Dhuey (undersize), Pinky (undersize) and a size black ass. Went over it a few times but couldnt hold ground, it looked like heaps of fish though. After that though we headed back in. Only ended up with a blackass.

Next year i think i might plan on staying in the boat so we can have a few (hundred) beers.

Yea we didn't have enough anchor rope to anchor in the 40 or 50's and were getting smashed even in close and finding it hard to hold bottom. Around 12 the pub started to get mentioned a fair bit.. then by 1 everyone was converted and we were back at the club (nice club by the way). We were expecting to see a few others from the comp there but it seemed all must have been die hards and staying out.
Well done to the boys that persevired and one a prize
