Great to see this young event growing not only in entrants, but in the sporsors, who make it a rewarding day of what we enjoy. 2nd year of running, and a good increase in ppl entering[inspite of those who didnt front due to weather..... and I wouldn,t blame them !] , and the great increase in sponsors suppling prizes and cash for the day. Though the west is "isolated" from the other states, this event has great potential, in drawing the keen anglers for a great fishing comp, and  top evening/s for the social get togethers. I fished the "Straddie Classic" for 11yrs of the 13 [i think] of its running which drew fishermen form every state of the country, and was the biggest salt water event in oz at the time,{over 2000 entrants}. WAFishAman Classic has the potential, over the years to come,  to rival the numbers, given promotion to the eastern states, and the keeness shown from the small percentage of fisherman in this state that where aware of the event. As word gets around, numbers and states represented could increase in huge numbers, given the great fishing waters, and hospitality that we can provide. Looking forward to the future when the "WAFishAman Classic" can be a comp run over several days with entrants from Australia wide. A GREAT effort from Lindsay, and unrivalled support from the sponsors. HUGE thanks to all who supported this event, to those who organised it, and a MASSIVE thanks to the Sponsors, and Mangles Bay Fishing Club, who have given us terrific facilities for launch, weigh-in and full club and bar facilities during the event. I am sure we can all look forward to next year being bigger and better with larger numbers entering, and more sponsors coming onboard to promote an event that can become Australia's premium salt water fishing comp.
