Today my Mate (Mitchisdatwitch) and I took the kayaks out in the swan river to try our luck on some Black Bream.
 
After an 2 hours of vibeing out deep we both decided that this technique was not going to catch fish. We decided to pull the plug and head back to shore... To collect bait. A couple of mussels and small rock crabs later we were back on the water heading to one of my favourite bream spots. Almost instantly we were stuck into some just legal/ just under bream. After a couple each, my rod loaded up onto a good fish, after fighting this fish for a minute or so I had it kayak side... then it bit through my 3lb leader... Bye Bye PB Bream of estimated 35-36cm :( . I rigged up again and casted back out and began to catch some more small bream. After a while I ran out of crabs so I kindly asked Mitch for some small crabs to use, being the kind and good friend he said NO!! :( . I rigged up a mussel on my hook and cast it near a boat. After about 10 seconds, being the very patient guy I am (NOT) I was about to wind up and cast again but I could not wind up, I thought I was snagged then I felt head shakes... and my lines go's ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ (About how long it took for you to read that) then the line went slack this fish had busted me off :( . The way the fight compared to the 35-36cm fish earlier this would have been high 40's... Highly Devastated! We went back to the bait spot and got a few more crabs and mussels. We went back to the bream spot and went back to it. After a while, I hooked a good fish on a crab or mussel (forgot). After a good fight, Mitch paddled over and netted this great fish for me. Unfortunately I had forgotten my ruler so I had to ask him  for his, We realised that this would take a while to find (under all his tackle) so I filled up the live well and put the fish in there for a few minutes then I pulled it out, Measured it, took photos and released. Oh by the way, my old bream pb was 28cm... This fish measured 30cm... NEW PB YAY!!!
